To transform lives and strengthen community through programs that support education and self-reliance, while fostering a sense of connection and belonging.
Assistance League of Chicagoland West member volunteers believe that a small gesture can influence a life, and that need exists even in the midst of privilege. From winter coats to kitchen essentials, literacy programs to COD scholarships, our work is driven by the passion of our members. We are committed to improving the communities in Chicago’s western suburbs through hands-on involvement. Our innovative education and outreach programs benefit struggling children, families, and adults. Each year, Assistance League of Chicagoland West members volunteer 8,000+ hours and touch the lives of more than 3,000 people in western Cook and DuPage Counties.
“… your remarkable volunteers have found ways to serve and transform the lives of the most vulnerable populations in our area.Your amazing acts of generosity prove again the words of Margaret Mead - 'Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.' " Patti Bellock, Illinois State Representative, 47th District
