Recognized as the premier sculptor of Abraham Lincoln, she has works of Lincoln displayed in Illinois.
Two sculptures of the first Lincoln-Douglas debate in 1858 that she was commissioned to create by the City of Ottawa Illinois now stand in Washington Square in Ottawa, Illinois, the site of the original debate.
Another sculpture, “Lincoln and Tad”, of Lincoln and his son, resides in the Oak Brook Public Library.
A sculpture can reflect beauty and elicit emotions. It can portray many things including events in the world and personal challenges.
That is evident in two of her recent sculptures, “Tears of the World,” which depicts loss and heartache during the COVID-19 pandemic, and “Why Me?” in honor of women dealing with breast cancer.
